Acceptance of Terms

By using Culture Counts, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Purpose of the App

Culture Counts is a fermentation journal, recipe tracker, batch tracker, and reminder tool. The app helps you record information about batches, ingredients, notes, reminders, photos, and results. It is not a food safety authority, medical service, laboratory tool, or professional advisory service.

Your Responsibility for Food Safety

Fermentation, food preparation, storage, and consumption can involve risk. You are solely responsible for anything you make, ferment, store, serve, eat, drink, or share. You must use safe ingredients, clean equipment, appropriate temperatures, safe storage practices, and your own judgment.

You should be careful. Do not eat or drink anything that looks, smells, tastes, or behaves unsafe. Do not rely only on Culture Counts to decide whether a ferment is safe. Follow trusted food safety guidance and consult qualified professionals when needed.

You are also responsible for allergies, dietary restrictions, sanitation, spoilage, contamination, alcohol production, pressure buildup, glass breakage, and any other risks related to fermentation or food handling.

Information and Reminders

Recipes, community recipes, calculations, salt percentages, temperature notes, instructions, logs, and reminders are for general tracking and convenience. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or inappropriate for your situation.

Local notifications and reminders are not guaranteed. Device settings, operating system behavior, permissions, focus modes, battery settings, or other factors may prevent reminders from appearing. You are responsible for monitoring your batches.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Some features may require a paid subscription or purchase. Purchases are handled through Apple and the App Store. Billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and subscription management are subject to Apple's terms and your App Store account settings.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt to reverse engineer it except where allowed by law, or use it for unlawful purposes. You are responsible for the content you enter into the app, including notes and photos.

No Warranties

Culture Counts is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. We do not guarantee the safety, quality, or success of any ferment, recipe, or batch.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages, losses, illness, injury, food spoilage, contamination, failed batches, missed reminders, lost data, or other consequences related to your use of the app or anything you make, eat, drink, serve, or share.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
